YOUNG ENERGY LEADERS 2026
(YEL’26)

The World Energy Council (WEC) is one of the most inclusive and widely recognized global energy organizations accredited by the United Nations. Its mission is to foster global dialogue, share knowledge and experience, and build a better energy future for all.

WEC Türkiye, as the official representative of the Council in Türkiye, aims to contribute to the country’s sustainable energy transition and to support the development of national energy policies and strategies on a scientific basis, aligned with the principles of the World Energy Council.

The Young Energy Leaders (YEL) Program, initiated by WEC Türkiye, is a dynamic platform that brings together young professionals committed to shaping the future of the energy sector. The program gathers individuals who demonstrate innovative thinking, strategic vision, and a strong commitment to contributing to WEC Türkiye’s long-term goals. Participants enhance their leadership capabilities while actively engaging in projects that create tangible impact within the energy sector.

In 2024, the program established dedicated working groups on key energy themes, leading to the preparation of several analytical reports, surveys, and thematic events that reflected the perspectives of Türkiye’s young professionals on digitalization, renewable energy, energy transition, and Trilemma studies. The YEL community also contributed to international events hosted by WEC Türkiye in Istanbul, strengthening the country’s visibility within the global energy dialogue. Furthermore, throughout the year, webinars and trainings were organized to enhance collaboration, knowledge exchange, and engagement among participants.
